About Us -

The High Plains Chapter of the Air & Waste Management Association serves western north Texas including the cities of Abilene, Amarillo, Lubbock, Midland, and Odessa.  The chapter is part of the Southwest Section, which covers Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas.

Membership in the High Plains Chapter is open to any individual interested in better understanding of the problems of air, waste, and environmental science management who lives or conducts business in the chapter service area; that is the area served by U. S. Postal Zip Codes 79000 through 79799.  Members of the Air & Waste Management Association residing in the chapter service area automatically become members of the chapter unless they select a different chapter.  An individual may join the chapter without joining the Association.  Click on "How to Join" to the left for more membership information.

The chapter holds regular meetings in Amarillo and Lubbock on a rotating basis, and occasional meetings in other cities.  Click on "Meetings" to the left for more information.

The chapter directors have approved a change to the constitution and bylaws of the High Plains Chapter to clarify the membership categories and comply with the requirements of the Air & Waste Management Association. The chapter membership will be invited to vote on these changes. View the draft constitution and bylaws.
